The last week has been an emotional roller coaster for me. I don’t know if it’s a weird constellation of the stars or because I’m about to get my period (every full moon like a witch should). I also had to make a very tough decision which I’m not entirely comfortable to talk openly about yet. Friday could not have come at a better time! I’m so looking forward to some downtime on the weekend, preferably wearing nothing beside cute and comfy athleisure outfits.
I’ve always had a thing for brightly colored activewear with cute designs, even back when it was ok to work out in your oldest T-shirt and a pair of cheap gym shorts from Walmart. I remember how cool I felt running errands in my yoga pants and flip flops during a visit to the States. Because wearing gymwear outside of the gym was not yet streetworthy in Germany. This must have been somewhere around 2012.
It was also during one of my trips to the US that I discovered Lorna Jane Active and was immediately hooked! Their designs and the soft feel of their fabric was unlike any other brand I’ve tried before. This and the fact that I’ve always loved to work out slowly made its way into my daily fashion game. Just in time for the athleisure trend to hit the market.
Athleisure, a type of hybrid clothing, is a fabricated style of clothing typically worn during athletic activities and in other settings, such as at the workplace, at school, or at other casual or social occasions.Wikipedia
And with chic activewear brands popping up by the minute, hitting the street in your latest yoga, pilates or gym outfit is far from the known grey sweatpants and T-shirt style. Since I’m the leggings queen (ever since I started my company FABSOUL®, I’ve been living in them), I wanted to share with you my favorite athleisure outfits for an easy post-workout to brunch-with-friends-transition. Or just because you are longing to wear something comfy without wanting to sacrifice style.
